Ribbon Cuttings
Welcome to Lafayette!
The Lafayette Chamber is always excited to celebrate new Lafayette brick-and-mortar businesses with Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies!
Click here to view upcoming ribbon cuttings.
If you’re interested in hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony, here’s what you need to know:
Who Can Host?
Our Ribbon Cuttings are available for new brick-and-mortar businesses in Lafayette. This includes those opening a new location, undergoing ownership changes, or making major improvements that deserve community recognition. Often Ribbon Cuttings are hosted in collaboration with a Grand (Re)Opening. If you are a new member outside of the Lafayette area and would like to host a ribbon cutting, please contact us at membership@lafayettechamber.org or 925-284-7404.
Ribbon Cuttings are held on weekdays (M-Th) between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm.
What The Chamber Provides:
- The Chamber will coordinate the attendance of our Chamber Board, Ambassadors, and City Council members.
- We’ll arrange for a representative from the City and the Chamber to speak at the ceremony.
- Our Chamber Staff will attend providing our big scissors, congrats banner, and ribbon.
- We’ll promote the event through our email blasts, social media channels, and event text alerts.
What We Need From Businesses:
- Businesses must provide a graphic invitation that the Chamber can use to market. Here are a few examples that have been used previously – Caroline’s Salon, Abio Properties, and Kimberley Harrison Interiors.
- We encourage businesses to provide refreshments and drinks for attendees to create a welcoming atmosphere.
- If there is any kind of promotion or special for attendees of the ribbon cutting, we can include it in the event marketing.
- Lastly, invite your network of people! Market and find ways to engage attendees and future/current customers.
*NOTE: we recommend a minimum of two-weeks advance notice for Ribbon Cuttings to accommodate scheduling, marketing, and promotion.
If you have any questions, please let us know. We’re here to help you celebrate!
