“It’s A Wonderful Life in Lafayette” Holiday Celebration originally scheduled for this Friday, December 6th, will now be held on Sunday, December 8, 2019 4-6:30pm due to weather. Same time, same place just a new date!
Free admission! This fun, family-friendly celebration includes a free visit with Santa, free train rides on the Lafayette Express, official holiday tree lighting ceremony, one-of-a-kind photo ops, live musical entertainment, kid’s crafts, holiday treats and more! Arrive early and plan to stay!
Festivities begin at 4pm. Santa is scheduled to arrive at Lafayette Plaza Park via Golden Gate Way and Plaza Way at 4:30pm on the Lafayette Express Train. A must-not-miss for the little ones!
The official lighting of the Lafayette holiday tree is planned for 5:45 p.m., immediately followed by a community sing-a-long lead by Rena Wilson of Performing Academy.
Throughout the event there will be activities for the kids and light refreshments.
Enjoy the beautiful holiday drawings created by Lafayette’s 3rd graders that will be exhibited in the Plaza Park. There will also be live entertainment throughout the event, including local student musicians and singers:
Enjoy a cup of free hot chocolate provided by the Lamorinda Sunrise Rotary. Pizza slices available for purchase from Round Table Pizza. Beverages also available for purchase. Local restaurants will be open serving their fine cuisine including Sideboard Lafayette, Metro Lafayette and RÊVE Bistro.
Already a popular Lafayette holiday tradition, the “It’s a Wonderful Life in Lafayette” holiday event is designed as a time to share holiday cheer as we celebrate this wonderful community we live in.
The “It’s a Wonderful Life in Lafayette” event is presented by the Lafayette Chamber, and sponsored by local Lafayette Realtor The Dana Green Team and Branagh Development, who together are also hosting the environmentally-friendly downtown Lafayette twinkle lights for the 2019 Holiday Season.
