Our Attitude of Gratitude!

We will be honoring a special group of individuals for their efforts in our community every day this week – the week leading up to our annual Community Thanksgiving Breakfast.

Day 1 – To kick us off, we’d like to thank our Sponsors and our Community Partners. Their efforts make our events a huge success.

Day 2 – Today we LOVE LAFAYETTE! Thank you to our downtown merchant members who sell Lafayette Merch! Check out our page to see who selling Love Lafayette >>

Day 3 –  Living in the “New Normal” world, we can’t escape the probability that we will be touched by a First Responder. Today we salute our First Responders.

Day 4 – Today we are grateful for our educators! We are fortunate to live and work in a community that makes education a top priority.

Day 5 – Today we cherish our friends and volunteers! Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers who work tirelessly to help us put on events throughout the year.

Day 5 – Today we cherish our friends and volunteers.

Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers who work tirelessly to help us put on events throughout the year.

The numbers are shocking … it took 494 of YOU to help us put on the Art & Wine Festival, 92 of YOU to help with Taste of Lafayette, 110 of YOU to launch the Res Run for Education and then take it down, and countless others that give their time to support the Community Thanksgiving Breakfast, Rock the Plaza Concert Series, Dogtown Downtown, Trick or Treat Street, Mixers, Ribbon Cuttings, etc…

We are most grateful for our community partners NCL (National Charity League) and BTC (Boys Team Charity) who volunteer regularly. Thank you to LPIE, the Rotary Clubs, Scout Troops, Acalanes and Campo Parents Clubs and Sport Boosters, Town Hall Theatre, the Lafayette School District parents and teachers and numerous other organizations that jump in and help whenever we ask.

Cheers to our Chamber friends and family who keep coming back.  Every drop of your sweat goes towards making our events better.

Take a bow. Pat yourself on the back and PLEASE keep volunteering. Your hard work and efforts make our Chamber such a success!

We Cherish YOU!

Day 4 –

Green Hills. Great Schools.

We are fortunate to live and work in a community that makes education a top priority. Our local schools are top ranked thanks to having the best teachers, educators, TA’s, coaches and support staff, etc …

The Chamber just hosted the Lafayette Res Run for Education in late October. We had 2280 participants join us to raise funds for our schools. Our youngest registered runner, Ellie was 1 and our eldest, Maria was 92. Yes, this was a large age span but it points to our community commitment to supporting education all across the board. In 2018, the Chamber was able to give over $42,000 back to our local schools through beneficiary checks to LPIE, PTA and PTO’s, Boosters, etc…

Thank you to our membership, events sponsors and community partners who proudly help our cause.

Day 3 –

Living in the “New Normal” world, we can’t escape the probability that we will be touched by a First Responder.

Fires, earthquakes & extreme climate conditions have become part of our lexicon. The threat of wildfires is part of our day to day concerns. The first responders selflessly give of themselves every day. This group includes firefighters, police, PG&E lineman, CERT teams and our local officials that leap into action when we need their help.

Take the time to say thank you. Send a “bread & butter” letter your local responders. Bake some cookies and drop them by the Police Station. Donate to one their programs or charities. Thank them on your facebook page or on Instagram.

The chamber worked very closely this year with our first responders to make sure our big events (Art & Wine Festival and Res Run for Education) were safe for our residents, visitors and vendors.

On behalf of the Lafayette Chamber “Thank you first responders for protecting us.”
