Lafayette’s Favorite Dinner Party – The “Taste of Lafayette” Restaurant Stroll! Friends, Food & Entertainment – 20+ Participating Restaurants. The “stroll” begins when ticket holders head out at their own pace with friends to stop at any or all of the participating restaurants for sampling. Evening includes music and a raffle supporting the Lafayette Community Foundation. Learn more about the event here.
Unfortunately due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Lafayette Chamber has canceled all Rock the Plaza concerts originally planned for June/July 2020. We hope to resume our downtown concerts for the summer of 2021.
Saturday and Sunday, September 26 & 27, 2020, Downtown Lafayette. The Chamber’s Lafayette Art & Wine Festival, held typically on a weekend in September, is perhaps the largest weekend event in Contra Costa County. Over 85,000 visitors attend, strolling among the art and handmade crafts, sampling foods from top local restaurants, and enjoying quality wines and microbrews. Non-stop musical entertainment on four stages throughout the weekend helps spark the block party ambiance. The “Premium Wine Pavilion” offers tastes of some of the world’s finest wines including wines from our own Lamorinda Wine Growers. The event also includes three Kid Zones and a Local Artists Alley. Sunday, October 25, 2020, 8am, Downtown Lafayette. The Lafayette Res Run for Education is the city’s most popular “family affair,” involving kids, parents, grandparents, and thousands of serious runners from the Bay Area. 2,200 participants compete in a 10k, 5k or 2 mile race through the heart of the downtown, around the Lafayette Reservoir (10k only) and back. Friday, October 30, 2020, 4pm-6pm, Downtown Lafayette. For a fun, safe Halloween event, children and their parents are invited to Trick-or-Treat at participating merchants along Mt. Diablo Blvd. from First Street to Dewing Ave, Lafayette Circle, La Fiesta Square and the Shops at Plaza Center. This event is free for everyone and recommended for children 9 and under. Friday, November 20, 2020, 7pm-8:30pm. Join business owners, residents and community leaders on the Friday before Thanksgiving. This long tradition in Lafayette brings our community together as we welcome in the holiday season. More information and tickets for this event will go on sale in October.
Sunday, December 6, 2020, 4pm-6pm, Lafayette Plaza Park. This fun and festive event includes a free visit with Santa, free train rides on the Lafayette Express, official holiday tree lighting ceremony, one-of-a-kind photo ops, live musical entertainment, crafts, holiday treats and a holiday sing-a-long. Arrive early to see Santa’s arrival and plan to stay in downtown Lafayette for dinner! This is a free community event sponsored by The Dana Green Team and Branagh Development! Learn more here.
