Spend Summer 2022 at Pillar Kids
LEARN MORE >>

Are you searching for some summer fun for your little one? We are thrilled to announce that Pillar Kids Childcare has planned nine weeks of summer awesomeness to keep everyone happy! Each week between June 6 – August 5, 2022, children ages 2-5 years old are invited to explore two rich subject-matters with so much to explore: The World of Dinosaurs and Wildlife Around the World. Pillar Kids will be exploring it all! This thematic approach for our summer program allows teaching and learning to integrate with one another while keeping PLAY at the center of it all. Our summer activities are designed to support your child’s previous knowledge on each subject and spark new discoveries along the way! How cool is that?

Pillar Kids Childcare is designed for working moms and dads to work in our coworking space, which is adjacent to the childcare center. While you get your work done, your child enjoys the fun with our talented teaching staff. Plus when you sign up for one of our childcare packages, you get FREE coworking! Our camps run Monday through Friday 9-4pm. Click the link to view our childcare packages HERE. Families can sign up for monthly camps or individual weeks ($425/week) depending on their needs. Check out how it went at last year’s Pillar Kids summer camp

NOTE: Parent’s must work onsite at Pillar’s coworking space in order for children to attend Pillar’s summer camp.

How to register: Email kids@pillarcowork.com with your desired summer schedule. Pillar staff will respond with a registration package and invoice to secure your child’s space.

Lorne Smith Lacrosse
Super Summer Evening Lax Camp @ Acalanes,
register and learn more at www.lornesmithlacrosse.com.

You are all invited to a new evening program I will be running this summer at Acalanes for the 1st – 5th age group called the Super Summer Evening Lax Camp!   See info attached – register and learn more online at www.lornesmithlacrosse.com.

When and Where:

  • We will be at Acalanes evenings this summer June 6, 8, 13, and 15 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm, and I am inviting your kids and their friends to come out and have a fun lacrosse experience with me and my Acalanes players and coaches!
  • These times will coincide with practices for a HS team I am putting together to play in Lake Tahoe.  One half field will be dedicated to each program.

What:

  • This “Super” style of lacrosse is same as Super Sundays – no contact, no checking, soft practice balls – so that we can learn some new skills, play small sided games, and have some fun in contests and competitions.
  • Each session will include stick skills, individual skills like dodging and basketball position defense, and we will introduce and drill some team skills like draw and dump, help defense, pass and pick away, give and go, and more.
  • And of course we will bring out the radar gun to clock shot speed, and have the ever popular “score on coach” contest.

Why: The goal is to get new players more excited about lacrosse and stoke that initial spark.  More experienced players will enjoy taking off the pads and playing lots of 3×3 and 5×5, and getting to know the HS player coaches.

Cost: $120 per player. Register: https://campscui.active.com/orgs/LorneSmithLacrosse?orglink=camps-registration#/selectSessions/3126633

Lafayette Academy

Summer Programs for Elementary & Middle School Students

Lafayette Academy summer programs are a great way for students to avoid summer learning loss or catch up on what they missed during COVID. Our K-8 programs help students strengthen their foundational skills, with long-term academic benefits for students who continue next fall.  As few as 13 total hours will make a difference for students who are on grade level; students below grade level will see a marked improvement after 26 hours in one of our programs. Our elementary and middle school programs are led by teachers, in centers, and online.

  • Weekly summer programs and tutoring for incoming grades 2-8.
  • Classes start the week of June 13 and continue each week until July 29.
  • Sign your students up for as many weeks as possible to get the best results. Our programs work because they combine great teaching & technology.
  • Our summer programs are flexible; we happily add classes for small groups (swim team friends, siblings, etc.).
  • Our schedules are synced to accommodate groups spanning 3 grades and blocks of 2 hours/student,
  • Our summer programs will NOT spoil your summer or your children’s!

Summer High School Classes – The “Get Ready” Program

We offer a variety of summer classes and tutoring options to help students “get ready” for Fall courses. Our instructors have been tutoring local students for many years; they know the challenges students will face next fall, including those that have been created by the loss of learning during the pandemic. We offer weekly “get ready” classes during the last few weeks of July and the first week of August. We will also offer classes for study skills and writing. As always, Lafayette Academy’s summer will include a robust test prep program for the ACT and SAT.

Diablo Ballet
SUMMER CAMPS >>

For our younger dancers, we offer Pre Ballet camps where students will explore the classic story of Cinderella through dance.  In addition, we will be offering a mini-intensive for Levels 1 & 2, technique classes by level and adult ballet classes. All classes will take place at our studio in Pleasant Hill.

California Shakespeare Theater
